Mentorship Program
A goal of the Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center is to provide mentorship to early career scientists and junior faculty that are new to aging research or are starting an independent research program focused on aging or on geroscience. Applicants accepted into the Oklahoma NSC Mentorship Program will work with its leaders and affiliated faculty on all aspects of project development, from discussion of research questions through refinement of experimental design (including in-kind research support through the Oklahoma NSC cores) to the preparation and development of grant applications. Accepted applicants will work with a mentoring team led by a primary/contact mentor, will participate in multiple training and dissemination activities of the Oklahoma NSC, and will meet in-person ~once a year with their Oklahoma NSC mentorship team during visits to OKC where they will also will present their work at the Oklahoma NSC seminar series.
