Administrative/Program Enrichment Core

CORE OVERVIEW

The Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center (NSC) Administrative/Program Enrichment Core (PEC) provides intellectual and organizational leadership and evaluates its impact on aging and geroscience research programs locally and nationally, including through its Internal Advisory Committee (IAC) and External Advisory Committee (EAC).

The PEC oversees, manages and coordinates the execution of all NSC programs and activities, monitors progress and ensures coordination between all Cores. The PEC also promotes knowledge of the NSC’s technical capacities, programs and activities, communicating with the aging/geroscience research community and the general public in collaboration with the Outreach and Communications (OAC) component of the Research Development Core (RDC).

The PEC organizes the annual Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center Geroscience Symposium to promote interactions among local and external investigators, discuss recent research advances in the biology of aging and geroscience, disseminate knowledge, establish collaborations, expand research networks and learn about funding priorities and opportunities directly from senior officials at US funding agencies. At the Oklahoma NSC Geroscience Symposium investigators focused on all areas of aging, age-associated disease and geroscience interact and present their research. The Geroscience Symposium also serves as a forum for NSC Pilot Grant Awardees, K-series grant awardees, and early career investigators participating in the Oklahoma NSC Mentorship Program from all over the US.
